SMAG is a German company and world leader in the design and manufacture of Peiner Buckets and Grapples. Our manufacturing line consists of mechanical motor grabs, hydraulic lifting devices, electro-hydraulic motor grabs, single rope radio control grabs and a variety of other types of specialized lifting machinery.



Up to date, Peiner has provided over 75,000 models across the world. Our unique grabs handle a variety of materials from cement, iron ores, coke, fertilizers, refuse and scrap, among a range of other products. Our many years of experience in the overall designing process and in manufacturing excellent products helps to enable our customers be given the proven technology their diverse applications need.



SMAG/Peiner has been represented by Peiner USA, Inc. for over 12 years in the US market place. Various businesses like for instance Steel Mills, Waste to Energy, Scrap Handling, Bulk Transfer Facilities as well as many other material handling facilities are now using our buckets and grabs to accomplish their jobs.



Peiner's design philosophy has always revolved around the idea of producing grabs that deal with the biggest volume instead of grab dead weight. Normally, the bucket and grab lifting ratio's meaning that 60 percent of material is dead weight vs. 40 percent grab dead weight. This translates into moving more quantities of supplies quicker. The wear and tear on the crane structure and its related parts is less. By combining innovative design and high quality materials with manufacturing, the desirable weight ratio is obtained.



Grab sizes will vary from 1 cubic yard or less to over 50 cubic yards in order to suit the needs of the customer. Furthermore, Peiner USA Inc. offers a complete service facility and spare parts facility for the units sold in the USA, as well as the addition of brand new buckets and grabs.
