A forklift to be a successful model should be built powerful to last the working conditions for many hours of use. It has to be able to move loads effectively and quickly too. The machinery should be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator as well.
The Yale powertrain is rugged and reliable. It needs to be strong enough to always deliver amazing durability through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with robust gears and really tough shafts. The drive, steer axle, engine and transmission are all isolated to reduce both vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine utilize cast iron blocks to promote long life. These types of machinery provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that requires minimum repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which reduce wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Both the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to enhanced torque. Amazing fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on most machines. It features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts which give resistance when driving on rough terrain. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available which automatically adjusts in order to reduce maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission utilizes computer-controlled power reversal to extend the life of the tires, to eliminate shock loading and increase durability. Also, the auto deceleration feature reduces both brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is designed for added strength with its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are entirely sealed against contamination and practically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. As well, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and reduces wear.
As part of Yale's standard packages, they have included a lot of safety features and ergonomic features. These kinds of machinery will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the length of their shift.
