Articulating Booms - Electric and Bi-Energy
Terex offers Bi-Energy and Genie DC machinery which are emission-free and provide quiet operation for the most sensitive work applications. For example, in industrial environments where the equipment should travel large distances, the Genie bi-energy system combines the versatility and advantages of a diesel fueled generator utilizing a 48 Volt DC machine.
Several of the important characteristics provided by this combination comprise over, out and up positioning capabilities for complete flexibility. Furthermore, the zero tail-swing offered by most units, combined with the tight turning radius offers easy maneuvering through narrow aisles and standard doors.
The proportional and drive controls offer the equipment with precise boom positioning and smooth drive performance. For emission free and quiet operation suitable for sensitive settings, there is a 48V DC electric drive system. There are jib boom models on the market to function with an extra working range for specific jobs. On non-jib models, there is a self-leveling platform which rotates to either side at an angle of 90 degrees.
Articulating Booms - Diesel Engine
The Terex Genie is great for industrial applications and outdoor construction applications. This model provides engine-powered articulating Z booms which combine up, out and over positioning capabilities and extreme lifting versatility overall. The outreach offered by this type is second to none in the market.
The diesel engines with articulating booms offer zero tail-swing on the majority of models and have a tight turning radius. These machinery are ideal for maneuvering in confined locations. Additionally, they offer exceptional torque, grade and terrain maneuverability and utmost power. The diesel engines are generally quiet as well. Nearly all models have active oscillating axle and full time drive positive drive traction system to offer great flexibility on surfaces that are uneven and rough.
High ground clearance is offered in 2 or 4 wheel drive models, whilst the rough terrain models are desirable for any company's fleet. The jib boom types are available and provide added range capabilities. On non-jib types, the self-leveling platform also rotates to 90 degrees on these models too.
