Reach Truck
A reach truck is utilized to pile up pallets of goods, supplies, and to keep storage areas orderly. The reach truck is available in quite a few models: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The forks of the truck slide beneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is like the stand-up, is usually utilized. This particular version consists of telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet must go into the same shelving section.
The added advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides as well. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This version is best in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Inside nearly all warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Textile companies and manufacturing facilities utilize different kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and can increase productivity while maximizing available storage space.
