Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport loads. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to transport unstable or tall loads with these equipment. A rider can be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap way of moving cargo from one location to another. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right option.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece equipment made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
